Tips for oily skin in summer, summer 2014 newsletter

Cleansing– The best ingredients to have in a cleanser in the summer is glycolic and salicylic acid. Both of these ingredients are found in our skinfo® Essential Cleanser ($21). Glycolic is going to help gently exfoliate the dead skin cells that sit on the surface of the skin while the salicylic is going to seep deeper into the pore to help dissolve the excess oil and dirt build up. Hydrate – Having oily skin in the summer doesn’t mean skipping the step of hydration. Using an oil-free moisturizer like EltaMD® Clear SPF 46 ($31) will not only protect your skin from the sun but it will give your skin moisture without making it oilier. If you try to strip the skin of all oil you are not just losing the hydration that your skin naturally needs but most likely your oil glands will work double time and produce more. If using any cream product on your skin makes you feel heavy try using skinfo® HydrA2GE ($70). It is a light weight serum that will feel like water absorbing into the skin. With this make sure to top it off with Colorescience® Sunforgettable Brush SPF 30 ($52) for a light weight mineral sunscreen. This will help control oil production while protecting your skin! Treatment – Giving your skin a little extra attention two times per week will also be a key factor in controlling over active oil production and clear break out free skin. Use SkinCeauticals Clarifying Clay Mask ($53) for a deep pore cleanse. Taking the extra time will control oil better throughout the week so it will be less of a hassle. Follow these easy steps will make the summer more enjoyable and less oily!  *All prices are subject to change.  Please refer to product page for product pricing.
