Winter protection

It's winter time again, and we all have a pretty good idea of what to bring in warmer climates; but what about the colder climates? We often forget to stay geared up for the colder weather travels, much less than, when we go somewhere tropical.  Even though it is cold, you may think that sunscreen is irrelevant. Wrong, with snow on the ground you can receive double the damage, as the snow reflects sunlight too; basically you are getting direct and indirect sun damage. A great way to stay protected against the cold weather and sun would be to use a moisturizing sunscreen, for your face and lips. Elta MD UV Sport (3 oz.; $22.00) is an 80 minute water resistant full body sunscreen, meaning when you are doing physical activities such as skiing or snowboarding you will still be protected. UV sport contains 9% zinc which will protect you from UVA and UVB rays, as well as vitamin e to help protect against environmental damage (free radicals). Elta MD has a patented formula, allowing for a clear application, so no worries about blending into the snow.  Keeping your lips protected is just as important as the face and body.  Elta UV Lip Balm ($10.50) will do just that.  5% zinc, along with added antioxidants, this balm will protect and keep your lips moisturized. Both Elta products are fragrance-free, oil-free, paraben-free, sensitivity-free and noncomedogenic, and can be used on children and adults alike. For your chapped hands Skinfo’s Intensive Hand Cream (3 oz.; $15.50), you apply as often as needed to prevent your hands from cracking from the harsh cold. With glycerin added for extra moisture, your hands will never be left with a greasy feeling. Weather you will be indoors or outdoors, make sure to keep protected against the sun’s damaging rays, and the bitter cold. Your face and body will thank you, and it will make you worry free so you can enjoy your time off! *All prices are subject to change.  Please refer to product page for product pricing.
