To prime or not to prime?
Many people wonder if using a primer is worth the extra step in their makeup routine.
The answer is yes! Using a primer has so many benefits that are hard to say no to. Primers can do so many wonderful things for, not only your makeup, but skin. Primers can make your pores appear smaller, give your foundation a smooth application and help it last all day long. Think of it as “insurance” for your foundation. All ages and skin types can benefit from primers.
If you have oily skin, look for a mattifying primer, as this primer will help absorb any access oil that will ruin the stay of your foundation, but also delivering a beautiful matte finish to your skin. If you are oily and acneic, a mattifying primer will work, however you can also look for primers that use the keywords “balancing” and “calming”, it will help with any redness that has occurred in your skin. Rosacea and dry skin can also benefit from a “balancing” and “calming” primer as well to help with hydration and redness.
For mature skin an anti-aging primer will do your skin wonders! Look for key ingredients such as peptides and antioxidants as they will not only make your foundation last, but turn the clock back on your skin. To add the “luminosity” that you’ve been looking for back into your skin, an illuminating or brightening primer will do the trick.Colorescience’s Sunforgettable Brush On SPF50 will keep your skin and foundation in place while providing SPF protection!
